Your role includes analyzing the relevant electricity markets to provide valuable insights for managing the largest electricity portfolio in the Baltics. You will gather data about the factors impacting electricity markets in the Nordic, Baltic, and Central European regions, maintain and improve the electricity price forecasting models based on historical data, market fundamentals, and external factors. Additionally, you will take an active role in developing strategies for the management of energy portfolios, work closely with the trading desk in portfolio management-related topics, and collaborate with Financial risk management and compliance teams to follow regulations and internal risk policies. Other key parts of your role will be implementing control measures and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including traders, engineers, and data scientists, to integrate pricing insights into trading strategies and decision-making processes.
Candidates with demonstrated relevant experience will be considered for the Senior role, others will be assessed for the Analyst role.
To succeed in this role as an Analyst, you must have:
An outstanding academic record evidenced by a university degree from a highly ranked institution
Flawless English skills (equivalent to IELTS 8.0+/TOEFL 110+)
Strong understanding of finance theory and experience in building financial models
To be considered for the Senior Analyst level, we also expect:
Relevant work experience of 2 years or more
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced user level
Excellent presentation skills
Additional Advantages:
Fluency in any of the following languages: Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish
Experience in any of the following: energy sector, Baltic regulatory bodies, Big 4 or other well-known consulting firms, capital markets or investment management
Relevant academic achievements (e.g. your thesis subject related to energy or trading)
Demonstrable skills in data gathering and analysis
R, Python, Matlab, SQL skills or willingness to develop them on the job
Extensive professional network in the energy sector
Location: can be located in Tallinn, Riga, or Vilnius.
